The Annual Road Warrior Ride

2023

The 2023 Road Warrior Foundation ride from Albany, NY, to Springfield, MO, was an extraordinary adventure that underscored the Foundation's dedication to Adventure Therapy for veterans, weaving through the heart of America's stunning landscapes and rich history. The event was notably enriched by the involvement of the US Spyder Riders, a community of Can-Am Spyder enthusiasts, whose support and participation were instrumental in the journey's success. Their commitment to aiding veterans was evident in their efforts to enhance the ride experience, fostering an environment of camaraderie, inclusivity, and healing. This collaboration not only made the ride more impactful for the veterans involved but also highlighted the profound difference a united community can make. We extend our deepest gratitude to the US Spyder Riders for their invaluable contribution to the ride, helping to create an unforgettable experience and lasting memories for all participants, furthering the mission of supporting veterans through the power of adventure and shared experiences.

2022

The 2022 Road Warrior Foundation ride from DeLand, FL, to Pickerington, OH, encapsulated a journey of healing, camaraderie, and adventure, reflecting the Foundation's mission of Adventure Therapy for veterans. Spanning diverse American landscapes, this route offered the riders an immersive experience through the subtropical climates of Florida, the rich cultural tapestry of the American South, and into the vibrant greenery of the Midwest. Along the way, participants engaged with local communities, visited significant landmarks and veteran memorials, fostering moments of reflection and connection. Designed to be inclusive, the ride ensured that veterans of all mobility levels could partake in the freedom and joy of riding, thanks to the Can-Am Spyder.

2021

In 2021, we took a group of our nations heroes from DeLand, FL to Suffolk, VA. It included a kickoff event at the Fall Spyder, Bike and Trike Fest, a day of team building on the famed Tail of the Dragon, the Blue Ridge Parkway on Veterans Day and a group tandem skydive experience with partner non profit Jump for Valor. The ride culminated with a farewell send off from the drop zone, but the memories and friendships will carry on for a lifetime.

2020

Six feet of social distance, fresh air in your face and plenty of sunshine - 2020 took a group of deserving veterans from San Diego, CA, to Deadwood, SD, and Mount Rushmore National Park. The experience included a day of team building and off-roading in Billings, MT, featuring a fleet of Can-Am Maverick X3 high performance sport side-by-side vehicles. The ride culminated with the Lamonster Mile tribute ride in the Black Hills honoring our good friend, ardent supporter, Lamont Bryden, owner of Lamonster Garage.

2019

In 2019 the group rode from Sherbooke, Quebec, Canada, to Johnson Creek, WI. The adventure lead our team through Quebec City, Mont Tremblant Ski Resort, Ottawa and Niagra Falls north of the boarder, allowing our riders time to connect (and take in all the fall foliage). The group also enjoyed a team building exercise at Top Golf Pittsburgh and a naval adventure across Lake Michigan aboard the SS Badger. The ride culminated with a hero's welcome put on by the Spyder Owners and Riders (SOAR) community and Rob’s Performance Motorsports.

2018

In 2018 the group rode from San Jose, CA, to Boerne, TX. It was an adventure full of camaraderie, open road and wind therapy for our deserving heroes joined by and entire town of outstanding supporters Texas! It included a dream ride through Yosemite National Park and a team building exercise off-roading in Can-Am vehicles through the Las Vegas desert! (Yes, we drove them like we stole them). The ride culminated with a hero's welcome in the great American city of Boerne, TX. It was true, everything is bigger in Texas!!

2017

In 2017 the group rode from Austin, TX, to Charleston, SC. It was the trip of a lifetime for our deserving heroes joined by some outstanding supporters! This year the adventure therapy included a day of team building and off-roading on Can-Am vehicles at an ATV Park in TX and a killer motorsports museum in Birmingham!  The ride culminated with a hero's welcome in the great city of Charleston, SC.

2016

In 2016 the group rode from Johnson Creek, WI, to New Orleans, LA. It was an incredible adventure with scenic roads and destinations along the way, including a day at Table Rock Lake in Arkansas where the veterans enjoyed riding Sea-Doo watercraft and taking turns riding a fly board. The ride ended at New Orleans Bike Fest.

2015

In 2015, the group rode from Sherbrooke, QC, to Key West, FL. The experiences along the way were incredible, including riding up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, as well as riding the world renowned Blue Ridge Parkway from Roanoke, VA, to Asheville, NC. None of the veterans had prior riding experience, but each were able to quickly and expertly learn to ride the Can-Am Spyder.

2014

The inaugural Road Warrior Ride was in 2014, going from Seattle, WA, to Tampa, FL. It was an incredible — and incredibly long — way to kick things off. Just like with all Road Warrior Rides, this group remains close, even more than a decade after the ride. What an incredible experience!

Awareness and Fundraising Adventures

The Road Warrior Foundation takes its mission far beyond its annual Road Warrior Ride. Throughout the year, members of the organization are constantly providing veterans with experiences of a lifetime. The Foundation’s vast network of connections – including its title sponsor, Can-Am – works alongside them to impact as many veterans as possible.

HOPS FOR HEROES

Each year since 2014, Tampa Bay area breweries and brew pubs have come together to support the Road Warrior Foundation with a fundraising event called Hops for Heroes. The goal of the event is to help raise awareness and funding for that year’s Road Warrior Ride.
